Appartment

I found one.

Its here on the map (two buildings to the right of the arrow), central location, close to the station but on a quiet street.
Here is the building (3rd floor, on the left)

Nice kitchen:

Nice view of the park, and all those windows open.

It’s not quite as big as that pic makes it look: I had to tinker with the perspective to stitch the three photos together to make this pic.

The landlord works here at IRISA and heard I was looking . Saw his place after all the others yesterday and it was the nicest by far. *phew* ;7

I take it this place does not have a “faucet of fear” or rats living in your loft (depends if you have met your neighbours yet !) 😉

It does look a bit different from my home in Kenya, doesn’t it?

For the record, then, this is what the batrhoom looks like at the moment, but apparently there are plans to rennovate it. Word on that as and when. I trust the rennovations won’t invlove a faucet of fear.

I just moved to a new apartment over the weekend, old turn of the 20th century Sears kit duplexes down by the Congaree river and the old Olympia and Granby textile mills. They used to house millworkers in this neighborhood. Eric and Michele dropped by on their way back to Delaware from New Orleans and said I’d managed to find the only place in Columbia that looks like New Orleans.

I’m also leaving my job at the end of the month. I’m tired of being miserable all the time. So I’m going to temp or find a part time job and work on the dance company and my dancing more.

Happy ten minutes before work reading your MySpace, Natty, Good luck with your chosen life changes. Does this means you’re going to start taking orders for custom beaded work again? I know how much you enjoy making clothes!

That’s the hope. Lots of people waiting in line for me to do work for them, even if they don’t need it. Bellydancers are very supportive of each other, and will buy shit from each other just so the vendor can eat.
