... and there's a lot to be said for being happy with what you've got (esp. when you don't have a lot), rather than deferring your happiness like we (some of us) have been trained to do in our consumerist me-me-me societies (I'll be happy when I'm thinner; I'll be happy when I've got a better job; etc.).

But don't you think that ALL bumper-stickers should be ambiguous, so as to promote thinking and debate?

TIME FLIES LIKE AN ARROW; FRUIT FLIES LIKE A NIGHT OUT FROM TIME TO TIME

HONK IF YOU THINK THIS NON-SELF-REFERENTIAL BUMPER STICKER CONTRADICTS ITSELF

HONK IF YOU THINK THAT LAST ONE WASN'T AT ALL AMBIGUOUS, BUT THIS ONE MIGHT BE

ps: Cryptonomicon suddenly seems to have a plot now I'm 100 pages away from the end... I'm wondering if reading it really quickly would've helped, since having 4 or 5 interwoven threads made it quite difficult to follow at first when I was reading it for an hour at a time before going to sleep.

Love the Safari pics... where did you get that hat, where did you get that hat?!
Happy New Year gorgeous man! what a hat? how come nothing ate you while you wore it? I have a training day tomorrow which will undoubtedly create problems where there are none. I therefore appreciate this bumper sticker. Question is are the people who dont go looking for problems happier? Or is it merely that if you dont think enough to realise there is a problem then you are happy in an "ignorance is bliss" way and then it all caves in on you at a later date. Having solved my problems I am blissfully happy (until a new problem comes along!)
